March of Dimes

The one day of the year that the temperature falls below 50 degrees in Phoenix... Maybe I am exaggerating, but it sure doesn't feel like it.

This morning the girls, Rich and I got up, put on some rain/winter gear and loaded up the car.

My office in Phoenix was participating in a walk for the March of Dimes. This 5k walk is to help raise money to support premature babies. It was fun to see all the people.

Rich was not so excited. His hands froze. Not really- since it was only 46 degrees- we are just whimpy Phoenix blooded people now.

Ryann and Cara did find some time to have fun. They ran, walked, were carried, rode in the stroller, and jumped through the entire 5k.Here is a sweet picture of the group! (minus Rich, Ryann and Cara)

We had really cool t-shirts made, but it was too cold to show them off. This year our team was sponsored by the Physician we work with in the office. Next year I will be asking you for help... since I found out you can win really cool prizes if you raise a lot of money... I mean, because it is really important to raise money to help save the lives of millions of babies that are born prematurely each year.

Both. Obviously the latter being the more important reason why I will ask for your money, but the prizes are pretty sweet too :)

New Technology = NOT Home

Here is a picture of the 2 ducks who have made our front yard their new home. Why do I have anxiety over little things? We just got this new computer. No bells and whistles. Just the computer part. Not the monitor, or the fancy stuff, just the computer part. I still have my old keyboard, monitor, mouse, etc.... but I am not happy with this change.

I want my old computer back. I really didn't want to spend the money (although we got a great bargain!!) and I don't like starting over. I feel like I have to spend days to rearrange everything in order to make it feel like "home."

I am actually protesting a little bit. This is sort of like what I have done with my cell phone. My new cell phone doesn't feel like "home" and I have had it for over a month now. I haven't switched any ring tones, I haven't changed the alarm from the original tone, and I haven't personalized it at all.

Why at the age of 27, does change to newer technology make me anxious? Have I really passed my technology prime? Is it really so hard for me to accept the change and realize that this new computer actually works, is faster, looks nicer, doesn't sound like it is about to take off, and 100 other things that should make me happy to use it?

Ahhh... I guess I will be happy as long as I can blog about with it, and about it.

Blogging Delay

"Seriously--- will she just get her computer fixed already?" I can hear all the voices of my readers shouting at the computer...

Working on it people. Working on it.

I have about 1000 pictures waiting to be uploaded on my camera.

Hopefully soon.

iPad 2

We have been playing around with Rich's new iPad 2 and as you can see everyone is having a good time trying it out.
Well, actually the girls haven't tried it yet- we just get some cute pictures of them. Rich is not ready for their little sticky fingers to get a hold of his new toy yet.

Cinnamon Roll Conference Sunday

I do believe I will make this a semi-annual tradition. Homemade cinnamon rolls.

My tummy hurts just sitting here thinking about how much delicious buttery cinnamon goodness that I ate this morning.

This is why it will only be twice a year.
That and it takes a lot of time. Like 4 hours.
I was able to make 2 dozen and I dropped off 3 pans to other friends and family and we kept the last one for ourselves.
As you can see Ryann was very happy about it.
As was I.

My recipe was found on a google search since Ryann was sleeping in my room next to my cookbooks when I started making them.

I used Rich's new iPad 2 to show me the recipe.
For that reason alone it is the best invention ever.

Oh yeah- conference was pretty awesome this morning too.

Like I said yesterday, we were playing board games.

I guess there is a reason it says, "ages 6 and up"
Neither girl can figure out the rules, no matter how many times daddy tries to tell them.
I think they understand- it is just more fun this way!

Look Mom, a PIRATE Dice

We were playing some board games today and Ryann kept trying to get me to take a good picture of the dice that has a skull on it.

Attempt 1: too small
Attempt 2: Cute Ryann, blurry skull
attempt 3: Just plain awesome!
Thanks RyRy... you are the silliest nugget a mom could ask for.
