Thanks Daddy-O

Rich was a great husband and father this week.

He spent tons of time with Ryann and not all of it was while he was playing video games.

;)

Today at Zach's varsity basketball game he purposely had Nugs fall asleep on his lap because she was tired- which is awesome to me because I hate it when I get stuck in one position trying not to wake her up.

He also didn't throw-up last night when Ryann did- that itself is amazing. He even helped bathe her after all the throw-up stink was gone. We kind of leave all of the yucky bodily fluids to me because of my strong stomach.

And he spent most of his Thanksgiving dinner running all over Great Grandma's house trying to keep Nugs from breaking things.

Yeah, he is an awesome dad.

Crazy Hair

We took out the pig tails in Nugs hair today and we got CRAZY HAIR! She was too cute to pass up.

Some day when I grow up I will get an awesome camera like my moms. I never get this good of pictures with mine. Bummer

Determination? Concentration? Independence?

Look at the focus, concentration, and determination in Nug's face. I hope this continues throughout her life, in all other aspects of her life.
Not just when trying to climb onto playground equipment.

I am thankful for Nugs and thankful for her independence and determination. I believe that this will cause some struggles during her teen years but in the end it will pay off. I wouldn't trade these early traits in her for anything....(remind me that I said that in like 13 years)

Thankful

Turkey Bowl.

Did I mention it has been 5 years since I was in Napa for Thanksgiving? I missed it.

I love my husband so much for making the drive.

If I were to write all the reasons why I missed it and why it feels like home today I would cry- so I am not going to.

Just know I am thankful.

The Car Ride

Well the 10 hour car ride (who forgot to calculate traffic on the busiest travel day of the year??) was really a 13 hour car ride.
However, Ryann did exceptionally well.
We watched:
1. Shrek
2. Madagascar
3. Shrek the Halls
4. Sword and the Stone
And then ate dinner at McDonalds and gave her some benadryl and she slept well the rest of the trip. Occasionally she stirred due to Rich yelling at the traffic.

Water Anyone?

So I go to the grocery store and find these way cute little water bottles. Wouldn't that be great if Nugs drank out of a water bottle? Totally. So in the house she does well with the water bottle. So well that she loves it and won't let it go. No problem. She is so stinkin cute it doesn't matter.I put her in her carseat to go run an errand and you can tell where this is going...
Did I do something wrong? When will I ever learn?
I guess now that I am soaking up water out of her carseat I have learned this lesson.

How come?

How come it takes 12 pictures to get only 1 that isn't blurry?
.
How come Ryann would rather watch "Shrek the Halls" with her new Shrek doll rather than with me? (thanks gra-mingo and aunt vicki!) How come these big blue eyes can get almost anything they want?
.
How come we have to have 2 more sleeps before we get to Grandma's in Napa?

Twilight

I don't remember the last time--- if ever--- that I went to see a movie on the opening day. I usually am patient and wait for the hype to pass if I even see it in the theater at all. I usually just wait for it on DVD. Well, not today.

It was really amazing.

I thought I would spend most of the movie comparing the lines in the book to the lines in the movie (since, well, you know... I do have the books memorized) but it wasn't like that. I sat down ready to enjoy myself and I DID!

I am sure that most of you know I am "Team Jacob" for lack of better words- but I thought they portrayed the goofy looking, silly, teenager perfectly and I can't wait to see him develop in the next film.

LaborLooks

It is about time I posted this...

My sister Ashley and I (well mostly Ashley) have started a company called LABORLOOKS!

We make maternity hospital gowns for labor/delivery/ and postpartum.

They are super cute, comfortable, make for great pictures, and even better babyshower gifts! Since Ashley is a labor and delivery nurse and I am a certified nurse midwife, we both know exactly what the hospital will allow you to wear during your stay. They even work for after a c-sections in the recovery room...

Anyway, the website and blog explain a lot more about it...

Don't you love the sweet models??

This Morning...

I found this not so happy face- in her crib- I didn't let the crying last long but she remembered I was the traitor this morning. And by the way- Auntie Devyn! We NEED YOU! This hair is getting out of control.
Anyone have any thoughts on what is going through this little nugget's head?

Big Girl Bed

So as I type I am listening to Ryann cry while I am testing the waters with the big girl bed. Why not let her try it out already? Let's see how it works. I will let you all know how it goes in the morning...

Check Out My New Bed!

Thanks to Grandma Mingo (Rich's mom- grandma flamingo shortened- long story- but Ryann can't even say Grandma so I don't know why we try...) we got this adorable toddler bed for Ryann! We aren't quite ready to switch her out of the crib, but Nugs 1 and Nugs 2 are going to be sharing a room so we are slowly starting to get things headed in that direction.
.
So now I need ideas on bedding and decorating the room! I am so excited to make them matching bedding (which I will probably have to make because of the round crib-).
.
Another big thanks to Rich for putting this IKEA bed together which I know is a pain in the butt because of all the little pieces and picture instructions. But I love you even more for doing it!

Check out my new boots!

Last year during the Old Navy children's sale I got these boots for $2.99. They finally fit Ryann but they are still a little too hot to wear... we are excited for Thanksgiving in Napa because we will be able to wear winter clothes!

It appears that Nugs is looking at the camera-- however, she is not.
She is staring at the TV

Fall Crafts

So I spent some time this week making an adorable fall decoration for my house... and I absolutely LOVE it!

This was inspired by my friend April and her CIA group! :)

49ers Game

A big thank you to Rich's Mom for sending off her boys to the 49ers- Cardinals game. Rich had a wonderful time even though the 49ers lost.

Now, they just need to remember on Christmas day that this was their early Christmas present! Thanks again!

Announcing...

Nugget #2 I know, I know... how can I tell at 15 weeks what the sex of the baby is? Well, put together at $200,000 ultrasound machine with the best ultrasonographer OB/GYN in the state of Arizona and ta-dah! Piece of cake. Now, I will still have another ultrasound at 20 weeks but this awesome machine could identify a 4 chambered heart, all fingers and toes, a 3 vessel umbillical cord with good insertion, all parts of the brain, good amniotic fluid, and all measurements within normal limits.
Oh yes- my slightly enlarged uterus only contains one nugget #2

Daycare for my Nugs

Ryann Finished off all of Daddy's Fritos and she LOVED them. I may have hopefully found a job! Well, I found a group of 2 physicians and a PA who are looking to hire a Nurse Midwife... which leads me to my next dilema... childcare!
Anyone know anyone in the Chandler, Ahwatukee, Tempe area who does at home daycare?
.
Or does anyone have recommendations for daycares in the area? Or a nanny? I need help!
.
Anyone have suggestions on what I should do? At this point in our lives, Rich and I both have to work full time in order to "catch up" from all these months I haven't been working... hopefully by the time the baby comes we will be able to work out a much nicer schdule- but until then... I need your eyes and ears to look for childcare for my almost 2 year old who is not potty trained but is super easy!!

Tags...

I have ignored the past couple tags because this blog is really about Nugs. However, I figure I will do my part--- and since I don't have very noteworthy pictures I guess this will make do.

3 THINGS Tag

Last 3 favorite purchases:

1.Christmas present for Rich
2. New pants for Ryann (yippy for 68 degree weather! It is about time!) P.S. grandma--she now wears 2T or 24 month pants
3. Very on sale Maternity clothes!
3 biggest fears

1. Scorpions

2. Killing Scorpions
3. Having Ryann get stung by a scorpion
3 Favorite Movies

1. Harry Potter (ALL OF THEM!)

2. Soon to be Twilight

3. Really I like most movies- I am not a huge critic

3 Facts About Me
1. I do not know how many times I have read the Twilight Series. Lets just say that I can read about one a day since I have been out of clinicals... (last day of clinic was september 15th) and I read a lot before that. You can basically read me a sentance and I will tell you what book it is out of, probably could find the page within seconds, and I could tell you all the lines before and after... do you think there is some kind of contest out there where you could make money on this??

2. My uterus has been consistently measuring 2 weeks more than my gestational age. I am sure on my LMP- and I believe I know too much for my own good. Almost every day I palpate my uterus and I wonder if I have a big kid in there, extra amniotic fluid, an extra baby... and then I realize that my abdominal muscles are thankfully still intact and I am sure they are holding my gravid uterus higher than expected... dang schooling... will it ever just let me be blissfully ignorant about anything?

3. I love to blog and blog stalk!

3 Things I haven't done yet
1. Gone Scuba Diving- I don't imagine this will happen anytime soon

2. Delivered a baby in a hospital, under my own license. (As a CNM)

3. Had an unmedicated, natural childbirth (don't worry... it is coming!)

3 Things I can't Live Without

1. My cute family- See baby picture of Nugs above
2. My wonderful extended family (Wagners, Hamiltons, Stabiles, Picketts, and more!)
3. My Faith in Jesus Christ
3 Things on my To-Do List
1. Get a job!
2. Prepare for craft night! (Check out http://www.foothillsfriends.blogspot.com/)
3. Apply for prescription privleges in Arizona

3 Places I've Lived
1. Napa, California
2. Springville, Utah
3. Phoenix, Arizona

3 Favorite TV Shows

1. House

2. Bones
3. Lost
3 Things I want to Buy

1. New Carpet

2. Year supply food storge

3. Designer Jeans

3 Wishes
1. I had a CNM job-- or maybe even any job-- I really don't want to go back to floor nursing- but I will if I have to

2. That Rich would find a job where he felt valued and where he felt like he was actually using his degree and all the amazing skills he has

3. That I will live Happily Ever After- Catching babies and raising my own with my wonderful husband!

Best Friends

KJ and RY RY This Halloween we spent time with our friends at the Ito's house. We ate soup and had bread and played lots of fun games. Afterwards we tried to trick-or-treat but Nugs was not having that. Finally we made it over to our friends the Youngs where Nugs was able to watch real trick-or-treaters in action. She then figured it out and had a blast!

Here is proof that she figured out the trick-or-treating gig... check out the video.

Sorry it is so dark

Halloween Part 2

This was my little angel before she ate ashes from the firepit and turned herself all black.
