3 Months!
Amazing how fast time flies. I absolutely love watching CK grow. This month I am guessing she is around 12 pounds. Only because we moved her into size 2 diapers. So maybe really 11 pounds or so. But she sure is cute. This Sunday we are going to bless her at church. I will post lots of pictures for my side of the family to see- since none of them will be able to make it. Sad but I can handle it. She does have a gorgeous dress that Grandma made for her! We are so excited to try it on again.CK still enjoys the newborns things- like swinging in her swing (her view is the picture above!), smiling mommy, smiling daddy, nursing, falling asleep in the sling, and baths. However, she also likes the infant things such as playing with her toys on her play mat, rolling from her tummy to her back, and lifting her head up and looking at the door when we go to get her in the morning.
.
I am afraid I am spoiling her a little bit. She has been sleeping on the guest bed and it is much softer than the crib we are about to move her into!
Here is a close up of these cute baby shoes!!
.
Speaking of sleeping- she is doing wonderful. I was afraid that she wouldn't sleep well like her sister. Well, her naps are still being worked out into a schedule- but she sleeps like a champ at night. We put her to bed at 6:00pm and then by 5:00 am I have been awake for the past 30 minutes because I am so engorged that I go and wake her up to nurse her. Then she falls back asleep until I feed her before work or 8:00. Whatever comes first.
.
I also had to mention that I fit into another pair of pre-pregnancy pants today! That makes the total up to 2! Oh goodness. I can't wait to get out of these maternity clothes and dresses for work. I refuse to buy new clothes and the running is SLOWLY paying off. I guess not that slowly- I just compare myself to my friend Natalie who has lost her weight by her 6 week check up- I am sure you all have those friends too!
.
Well, that will teach me to not gain 50lbs during pregnancy.

I WON!
I am going to bring this sweet print with me to work. It will help keep me inspired to keep helping these women even in an atmosphere that is sometimes hard to want to continue.Maybe I just shared a little too much- and to prevent the questions- well, ask me all you want- but it just comes down to a practice where they won't let me practice midwifery. I have to practice medicine in the hospital and it is really hard to not be able to do what I know can be done.
But--- on a good note about the office---check out our new website! www.phoeniciancare.com it only took 7+months of me working here to get my name on the website!
.
And I won this print from sweet Courtney!

Lazy Day
This is what we do on our lazy days. We have waffles with syrup for breakfast (which means syrup is sticky in the hair the rest of the day), and then I attempt to keep it out of Nugs face with a clip and then we cuddle on the couch and let Nugs pick a movie. Sucking her thumb of course.Today she picked "ELF." Quite a hilarious movie and much better around Christmas time. But it was still nice for Rich and I not to have to watch an animated cartoon.
.
Then we prop up CK so she can pretend to watch. I don't think she can see that far yet- but maybe. Anyway, right after this picture I noticed the "blow out" right there on the her left/ our right side. That cute little yellowish coming through.
And here is my little red head sucking her thumb as content as can be with an overflowing diaper. We are using disposable diapers right now to try and use them up because she has grown out of her size ones. As you can see with the explosion. This doesn't happen with our "bumgenius" diapers.

I Wish
The weather here is getting pretty hot. The monsoons are pretty exciting, but I can't wait to be able to run outside again without feeling like I am going to pass out. So today this is what I wish...
Who is gonna pick us up at the airport?
Haha.
If we can't go see Grandma in Napa then we might just take a trip up north to see Gra'Mingo again.
.
Either way we love our Grandmas!

More bathtime fun
Like I said yesterday- why is the bath soooo much fun?
Nugs is kind of a little trickster- the first time she did this she totally surprised me. After the first time I knew it was coming~~ but still totally hilarious.

So Sweet
I usually hate posting twice in one day- but this one is for the memories and Nugs did something today I don't want to forget.
.
I can't forget it because when Nugs is 16 and CK is 14 and they are fighting over clothes/boys/friends/ accessories/ car rides/ etc I need to remind them that they love each other.
.
I was nursing CK tonight right before bed. Nugs usually ignores us during this time but today she scooted right up to us. I asked, "Do you love your sister?"
.
She looked at me, said "Yeah," and then proceeded to kiss CK on the head. She then looked up at me and sweetly started patting CK on the head. She repeated this cycle over and over at least 7 or 8 times.
.
Maybe it is the hormones that made me tear up- but the sweet sincerity of the love that Nugs has for her sister is amazing. This is a great reminder of the Christ-like love that we need to have. We need to be as little children.

Count to 10
Nugs has been trying to count to 10 lately. This poses a problem since she doesn't really talk, but it is quite hilarious none the less.
My favorite part is when she laughs at the end.
oh yeah- and I apologize that she is only in her panties- daddy had her all day before we took the video.

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday to "Gra'Mingo"!
This is one of my favorite pictures of her with baby Nugs. Gra'Mingo got her nickname when we were trying to decide what to call each grandma- She just happens to be "grandma flamingo" so we thought it would be nice to push the two words together and make it original for a wonderful grandma!
.
Too bad Nugs can't say "gra'mingo" yet. She does know how to squak like a flamingo. Maybe we will work on that today before going to dinner at her house.
.
It is really nice to have some family close by. We love you Pat and we are so thankful for all that you do for us. You spoil the girls rotten but they love every second of it. And you are allowed to do that because you are the grandma!!

DUCKS
At our house we like to feed the ducks down the street at the "lake" (it is really a big man-made pond. But whatever)Many of you know when you feed the ducks you really end up feeding the GIANT, UGLY, SCARY Fish.
.
Nugs loves to throw them whatever we have. Bread, hamburger buns, chips, popcorn, cookies, etc. but it is all usually old and gross. Well no matter what we bring. It usually ends up like this in the end.
Nugs eats whatever is left over and she usually stands up and says, "bye bye" when she realizes it is either the ducks/fish or her who gets the rest of the food.
And CK and the baby doll just watch. And they are okay with this. Really exploring the shoulder pad on the strap is fascinating for a 2 1/2 month old.
This is not neglect people- the real bad parenting is when we bring them outside any later than 8:00 in their PJs and it is over 100 degrees outside.

CK goes Right?
Rich always tries to repeat a line from Zoolander where Derek Zoolander can only turn left? Not quite sure what the line is- but it looks like CK can fall right and Nugs could only fall left when she was CK's age.
It is funny how babies don't seem to mind falling over like this. Am I a messed up Mommy for watching it and documenting it? It is pretty hilarious.
I think my girls look a lot a like- I am thinking Nugs has a rounder face than CK though.

Seriously?
Growing up I heard the story over and over again about my Uncle Jim. When he was a little boy he came out of his room with his brother Paul's underwear on. Well, it was WAY to BIG for him, but since they were in his drawer he wore them anyway.
.
Now the Hamilton's have a story to share like that. Except it isn't Nug's fault that her daddy put a onesie on her that was her little sisters. She woke up still wearing it.
I am not sure when Rich realized it wasn't Nug's but I am glad he didn't try to snap it closed..
She then went on the rest of the morning redecorating our couches with her stickers. I do believe she did an excellent job. What do you think?

Why Do I Run?
I made this picture small on purpose- so please don't click on it and enlarge it. Okay- since I told you that you probably will. Oh well. I am too tired to care.
.
I have been running for the past 2 weeks. It kicks my butt each time but I run at least a mile and a half every morning or night. (well, 6 days a week) And I will increase this to 2 miles on monday.
.
And last night I thought it would be hilarious to see what I look like after I run in the 100 degree heat at 8:30 at night.
.
It is not hilarious. I just hope that no one stops their car while I am running to make sure I am not dying.
So my question for the day is, "Why do I run?" and not to forget about the, "Why did I gain 50lbs in my pregnancy?", or the, "I am breastfeeding so why isn't the baby weight melting off?" and the ever popular, "Why is it so stinking hot after the sun goes down in Arizona?" followed by the, "Why do I live in Arizona?" which quickly leads to, "Why am I not in Napa when my sister is about to have a baby?" then the thought turns to, "Oh why am I so crazy and loved my labor experience?" and then to, "How did I get such amazing girls?" followed quickly by, "How did I luck out with such an amazing husband?" then back to the question that Rich thinks is ridiculous, "How can he like me with all this extra weight?" and then to, "How come I haven't lost this last 15 lbs?" and then finally I remember why I am running.
.
Cause I really need to fit into my prepregnancy clothes.
(And you thought it would be some inspirational message! Ha!)

Introducing...
Our New POTTY!
I am getting a little tired of Nugs trying to dump the pee from her little potty into the toilet... and when she wants to see what is going on and she spreads her legs and pee splashes out all over the floor.
.
With this genius from Home Depot we now don't have this problem. Well, we sort of do since I have been too lazy to clean the little potty and put it away in the garage. She doesn't want to use the big potty yet.

One step at a time.

problem solver
Nugs is quite the thinker. She has taken quite awhile to learn to talk and I have said this before- but I really think part of it was because she is so independent and likes to figure out things on her own.
So this little rocking horse has proved to be a pretty big problem for Nugs. Every couple days she pulls it out and tries to solve this problem. She hasn't asked for help yet and I am not sure if she ever will.
.
The problem she is trying to figure out is "how do I fit on this thing?"
It doesnt work forwards...
or
backwards...What is a nugget to do?

She Cracks Me Up!
I was playing with Nugs in the bath tonight and she just started throwing the towel over her face. She thought it was pretty funny and then she soon realized she could suck water out of it.
Now she did pee before she got in the tub- but who really knows what is in that bathtub! A little gross in my mind, but I am sure she has eaten worse things and put worse stuff in her mouth.
Oh yeah- I forgot to mention how it went putting both girls in the same room. Well, both went to bed fine but at 9:00 Nugs woke up because of a cough and started screaming. Needless to say CK is been back in the guest bedroom.

CK and Nugs
I have always planned that CK and Nugs will share their room- however, up until now we haven't put them in the same room. CK has been on the couch, in the closet, in the guest bedroom, in our room, in a bassinet, etc. But tonight...
drum roll please...
.
CK and Nugs are sleeping in the same room!
.
I obviously have no idea how this will turn out and if they will sleep tonight- or even if I will sleep tonight.
.
But wish us luck. CK went down at 6:30 and Nugs went to bed at 7. I am watching the video monitor and I haven't seen any toys thrown into the crib yet. So we are doing good there.
.
Lets just hope that Nugs doesn't wake up when CK does at 3:00 and want to stay awake.

Happy 4th of July
Happy 4th of July to everyone! We love you and hope your holiday is fabulous!
We are off to a swim party and BBQ.
Nugs didn't want her picture taken this morning. But she didn't mind getting her picture taken later in the car! Oh wait, we wore both of these little nuggets out.
Aren't they cute when they are asleep? I love them.
.
p.s. The end is in sight Ashley! I promise she won't stay in there forever
