My Photographer

Nugs has recently learned how to turn on my camera. And since it isn't a nice camera I don't really care. Mostly she takes 30 pictures of her fingers or pants or whatever, but I do feel this could be the first picture of her artistic photographic abilities.Yeah right. But maybe grandma would be willing to purchase this fine print of a lion, part of a horse, a grandma, and a pink duck.

Speaking of learning new things... Today is Nug's first official day of PRESCHOOL!
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday all the big kids at daycare go to preschool. Some kids even younger than Nugs go, but I didn't want to start her too early because she still doesn't even talk that great... but her skills are improving and we decided it was time.
Well, Nugs decided it was time.

The past few days I have gone to pick her up and she grabs another kid's papers from preschool to show me. Finally I asked her, "Nugs, do you want to go to preschool?"
.
She quickly replied, "YEAH. OKAY!" and basically was happy the rest of the day. She knew exactly what I was talking about and from now on she won't be the only big kid left out when all the other kids from daycare go to preschool.

Sweet Sleep

I have delivered 7 babies this week. 6 since Friday. This wouldn't be too bad if they happened all at once. But they didn't. Just got home from a delivery and I think Rich is finally learning how to be a midwife's husband because I don't even think he knew I left.

I forgot to mention how tired I am. Guess what time I went to bed tonight? 6:30. Ryann kissed me goodnight and we said a prayer. Did I mention she says prayers now?

Not sure why I am blogging now. Goodnight and hopefully it is for the night!

4 Months Old

Yes, CK is 4 months old. On this special day we wanted to give Uncle Zach a present.
It is especially for him now that he is grown up and at college. We hope you enjoy it Zachy!

Flashback friday

CK will be 4 months old tomorrow. I am trying hard to remember what Nugs was doing at 4 months. I believe she was sitting a lot in the bumbo and we don't seem to have many pictures of her smiling. I am not sure if she smiled less than CK or if I just take thousands of more pictures so I can get ones of CK smiling. Or maybe it is the dimples that make me take more pictures. Or maybe the camera? Or maybe CK really just does smile more.

Anyway, I tried to find a picture of them both a little before 4 months and one where neither are smiling (because I couldn't find a good one of Nugs smiling)

The have the same Hamilton face shape, and believe it or not I think CK has more hair, but she is definitely the more pale of the two girls.

AT LAST!

Pooper Scoop

I got it! I got a video clip of Nugs singing her ABC's!! Since I want to hold you in suspense I am going to make you wait until tomorrow. HAHA!

But today I present to you the wonderful scoop/net.
This scoop is usually used to pick up waterbug toys but last night it was used for something different.
.
During Nug's bath she told daddy "potty" so he got her out of the tub and put her on the toilet. She quickly peed so daddy put her back in the tub. Well, since we all know her communication skills aren't that great she looked at daddy and said "potty" again.
.
Dad said, "Good job Nugs. You went potty!"
.
Since her needs were not met she then proceeded to stand up and put this net in between her legs and attempted to catch the very large poop that followed.
.
She missed. So daddy ended up scooping the poop out of the water with the net anyway.
.
Is that cute or just plain disgusting?
MAYBE A LITTLE OF BOTH?!

I Promise

I promise I have been trying to get her to sing her ABC's. I promise not a day goes past where I haven't tried. I promise she can sing them. I promise she thinks it is hilarious to not sing them. I promise I will get this on camera if it takes another 3 years. I promise I won't post too many more movie clips of failed ABC attempts. I promise there might be a couple more because my sisters have watched the first video at least 10 times. I promise Rich finds it hysterical to watch me chase her around the house trying to get her to sing them. I promise CK might sing them before Nugs because I sing them so much. I promise I am done now.

3 Hour Naps

I think Nugs always took 3 hour naps- twice a day- for at least the first year of life. Probably the first 18 months even. She LOVES her sleep. Well, CK sleeps well at night but her naps during the day are like three or four 1 hour naps. However, some days she figures it out and this is what she looks like when she wakes up from a 3 hour nap! I wish I was this happy after a nap!
So our computer still isn't fixed but I broke down and figured out how to download the pictures to the laptop.

computer crash

I am sure I have blogged about my computer crashing at least twice since I have been blogging. Well, guess what? yup- you guessed it. Our computer crashed again. Stinks. No pictures to post today.

All I want to say is that I am homesick. I need to find a time to go visit them. My parents are up in Utah right now with my little brother Zach and I really feeling I want to be there. So sad. My sister Erin is coming to visit soon though and Ashley was just here last weekend so I shouldn't feel this way. But I do.

Can't Help Myself

Today is Wednesday and it is my day off. I have thousands of things on my list to do today and of course blogging wasn't on my written list... but you know me all to well and you know that I gotta blog each day. WHY? Why today? Even though I know there are quite a few people who get their "Daily Nuggets" I like to pretend that it is just for grandma's and aunties and me- the mom who often feels like I miss out on my babies' lives because I work so much.

Which reminds me of #1 on my list today: Find a new job

ANYWAY... this is why I can't help myself and I blog almost daily. I mean- Look at those dimples.
And here is Nugs saying, "CHEESE!"
She was smiling so hard she started to drool. And yes- that is chocolate from a chocolate chip cookie. I also decided to have the girls match for daycare yesterday. This worked out well until Nugs had an accident. Great... new situation... a little bit of potty training regression. Thats okay.

So red boy shorts it is for Nugs after her accident.

I also wanted to wish my little brother Zach good luck. He is driving today with my parents and sisters and brother in law to Utah to start college at BYU. I can't believe how grown up he is!

Mall Fun

We love mall playdates! Not only do we get to play as much as we want- but we get to eat at the food court and this almost always ends in a treat. Either Cookies from Paradise Bakery or Ice Cream cones from McDonald's.
I love Nug's Bestest Friend and her ice cream cone beard!

First Day of Daycare

Well, it technically isn't Nug's first day with Miss Mary, but her first day back. I tried to get a picture before I dropped her off, but she wasn't cooperating. I also try to get her to sing her ABC's for the camera- but that was a no go as well.
CK looks excited to go- right? I had a cute brown headband in her hair that was oh so cute.
Miss Mary said both girls did well, but Nugs had a hard time remembering not to push. How come that is so hard to remember? I mean not like she has a lot to remember. Remember to eat, pee in the potty, take a nap, play, poop on the potty, not hit, share... ok nevermind, She has a lot to remember.

She did color a pretty yellow alligator today too. I am so proud.


And this video clip is my first attempt at trying to get Nugs to sing her ABC's for the camera. It is hysterical when she sings them. Ashley and Ron can attest to that.

Maybe tomorrow she will sing her ABC's for me.

P.S. the chocolate around Ethan's face is from the made-from-scratch chocolate molten lava cake with whipped cream. Soooo Amazing.

Cousins!

Ashley and I attempted our first photo shoot with the girls. CK is completely jealous of cousin Addie's hair, but they both pop the pacifier pretty well. Addie has the same size feet as CK even though CK is 2 1/2 months older. I guess starting out over a half pound helps and Mama Ashley must make some amazing breast milk! Look at those chubby cheeks!When Addie was born I really thought she and CK looked a lot alike. Not quite so sure now.
Grandma... your 4 grandkids are down here in Arizona... where are you??
It will be so much fun to watch these little ones grow up together! I am sure there will be more photo shoots later today and tomorrow.

New Swimsuit

Here is a picture of Nug's new swimsuit from Target for $6. I do have to say that is an advantage of living in Phoenix. I get great sales and we will still be swimming for the next couple months!For some reason she really didn't want me to take her picture. This was her yelling "no"

So I decided to video tape her instead. The pictures below are the toys she plays with from grandma mingo. She pretty much makes her toys kiss all the time.
By the way- thanks Ashley and Devy for the necklace for Gra'Mingo. She loves it and wears it daily!

Makeup Fun

Nugs recently found my makeup! Oh no. Fortunately the stuff she got into wasn't my really expensive stuff. Not only did she put the gray eyeshadow on her face, she tried to do makeup on her doll.


It was quite the feat getting the makeup off of her- she is a fast booger.

CK Laughs

Whenever I pull out the camera CK stares blankly at me. I am not sure how daddy does it.

Silkie Love

Nug's obsession of silkies is being passed on to her little cousin Addie! We can't wait to meet her in person. Too bad we have no idea when this will be.
UPDATE!! ASHLEY JUST CALLED AND SAID SHE IS COMING TO VISIT THIS WEEKEND! HURRAH!

Fan Fun

We have a standing fan in our bedroom (don't look too close- the bed fairy hasn't come yet today!) that Nugs likes to play with.She recently found out there are 2 ways to turn the fan on and off. Manually or with the remote control.
Either way she thinks it is hilarious to play with and have the air blow in her face.

And if you notice the little rocking horse- she was trying to fit on it again today.

Rolls of Fun

I promise this little girl isn't fat...but I am just loving the rolls I can make when I curl her up. I compared her to a future boyfriend the other day (Easton!) and he is at least 7 lbs heavier and he doesn't have rolls because he has too much fat it is like big pillows and his skin is stretched out. Fat babies are sooo adorable. Easton is totally cute without the rolls- but CK's rolls crack me up.

FYI- I am watching the office in the background. LOVE IT!

Tea Party 2

We tried another Tea Party yesterday and it was a lot of fun. Very crazy, but a lot of fun.

The girls wore princess dresses and sipped on apple juice tea. CK slept the entire time.
.
Nugs was only put in time-out twice for pushing. She ate her food and she also got a cupcake at the end.
.
Thanks for the wonderful "pee party" as Nugs calls it.

Where's Nugs?

Today Nugs shut herself into the hall closet. Rich thought she was playing a game so he said, "Where's Nugs?"
.
He then heard a tiny voice say, "I don't know"
.
After this we started playing hide-n-seek and this has automatically turned into her favorite game. One of us counts to ten and the other takes her and hides. She giggles almost the entire time so it is pretty easy.
.
She sure cracks me up!

Look Closely

I would like you all to look closely at this little nugget. Once again a failed attempt at a hair clip. However, I did just go to the ribbon store and bought some "no slip" things to put on the hair clips so they stay in her hair. I will post a (fingers crossed) success story of hair clips soon.
What else do you notice? I hope you take a look at the saggy drawers. They sort of fit until Nugs fills the pockets with loose change. You see- she has found our not so hidden- hiding place for our loose change and she loves to walk around and say, "MONEY" and then put it in her pockets.
Fortunately she hasn't eaten any yet (right Devyn?).

And now to the green chair- great steal for $4 at Walgreen's and it doesn't match anything but it is the perfect height for Nugs to eat her breakfast at the coffee table. Not quite sure what I was thinking- encouraging her to eat in front of the TV- but it was so stinkin cute and she loves it.
.
And the only other comment I will make about this picture is that while eating that quesadilla she would dip it in guacamole and just lick it off. Eventually she got tired of pretending she was going to eat anything other than the guac and she picked it up with her fingers and ate it.

For Auntie Erin

I love the fact that Auntie Erin- at her big grown up job in the city- sometimes watches videos of Nugs all day long. Well- probably not all day long, but we like to think so!
Even though this video is dark I figure Auntie Erin will enjoy watching a daily activity of Nugs.
And all we can say is, "JUMPY"

p.s. Cory and Katie... Slinky Dog was one of the best gifts ever. Both Nugs and CK play with it.

Blessing Day

Today was a very special day for our family. Rich was able to Bless CK at church. It was so wonderful to have the Hamilton family and such wonderful friends come to be with us on this special day.It was a beautiful blessing and I know CK is going to grow up and be an amazing sister and daughter. She will always know that she has a loving Heavenly Father and parents who love her more than anything. It is such a blessing, joy, and privilege that we have been chosen to raise this choice daughter of God.

Her dress was beautful, headband was adorable, and she was a perfect angel the entire time.
.
I will say ooops- I need to get some professional pictures of her in her dress because it is too pretty to let my camera try and do it justice.

Clean Out the Closet

I forgot how fast babies move through clothes. I just pulled these cute PJ's out of the 3+ clothes box and I remembered how my sweet friend Karlie gave these to us for Nugs. And I love the CK is big enough to wear them now too!

Today we started putting all the newborn clothes back into boxes and back in the garage- these girls have SOOOO many clothes!

And I thought I would mention have I love CK makes me look tan! haha. I am not tan- CK is just REALLY WHITE! We sure love her though.
